More walls and big beams

Things are going good. Two of the neighbor guys stopped by and helped us get up the big beams. There are 2 sandwiched together. One 12"x5 1/2"x 20', and one 12"x3 1/2" x20'. It took alot of umph to get them up, and all I could do was watch.... darn knee!!! Downstairs interior walls are in (did I say diagonal walls were fun??? Silly me!). I joists and 2nd floor are almost all in. Getting ready for trusses next week.

I'm back

I was out for two weeks with my knee injury, but now I'm back, with a resolve to wear my knee brace for the duration of the building project. The walls are going up and all the neighbors are stopping by to see what's going on.

My builder son

Due to my knee injury there are no pictures of the first floor going in, but I did get a picture of my replacement enjoying the rewards of being in Washington.

Concrete, floor joists and a bum knee

We got the foundation in and son, Isaac, came from Florida to help. Unfortunatly, on the first day working with him, I sprained my knee again! Good thing Isaac was here to take over for me. He kept the guys on their toes and got the floor in.

We start building

The footings and foundation are going in. It's good to get started

Grayland trailer, no more

Building permit finally came through, so the trailer is going to another home by the water, in Sequim. Shrubs were moved and the big tree had to come down. All that was left of the trailer was the rusted out hitch and the old steps.
